Its almost half way through September so I am not sure if its still acceptable to post an August faves post but oh well! August just flew by as it usually does, everything seems to happen at the end of August, there was my birthday, a weekend camping trip, ending work, organizing the final details of moving into my own place, and making sure I was mentally prepared for my last year of college (which I am not and never will be). But between all the chaos that is August I was able to put together a few items for this post.
I hope everyone is having a great September so far! I have to say the fall favourites posts will be hella good because its finally acceptable to wear dark makeup and grunge clothes, and living in Toronto I shop a lot. So stay tuned xo.
Batiste Dry Shampoo, tropical.
This is the only brand of dry shampoo I will use and swear by. I can go almost a whole week without washing my hair thanks to this product, seriously has saved my sever damaged hair from over washing the greasy mess I suffer with. I loved the tropical sent this month, it reminded me of an island getaway, so it helped when I was stuck in a factory all day.
This ball cap was also another hair saver this month, and I wish I thought of it sooner! I loved wearing my hair in a low messy bun and throwing this hat on top to hide some serious bedhead at 6 am, or on the days my hair would just not cooperate. Plus I got a lot of compliments on how I could rock this look.
I can’t say enough good things about this concealer. No exaggeration its perfect. I was skeptical about the shade range, as I am paler than a snowman, but it actually works really well on with my skin colour (light ivory). The applicator is longer than most concealer wants so I find that the distribution of the product is a lot better and I don’t need as much on my face. It covers all my dark circles and spots, does not crease, and leaving my skin with a serious glow that isn’t greasy. Seriously in love.
I have been loving the natural looking highlight lately. Now don’t get me wrong I love blinding bitches with my Champagne Pop, but this Wet n’ Wild highlight in Precious Petals has been getting thrown on my skin everyday (when I did wear makeup). I have heard raving reviews on these highlights and let me tell you I was not disappointed! It is such a pretty colour and amazing feel for a drugstore highlight.
In all honesty I have not loved ELF products in the past, I found the packaging to be cheap and their products hard to use whether it be highlights, eyeshadows, or brushes. But I was desperate and broke and needed a new primer for the summer months. I saw this and went for it. Now, this still isn’t the worlds best primer but I do love the feeling it gives me skin and the way it makes my makeup look. I feel so hydrated and plump after using this, and my skin feels like butter whether I wear it alone or with concealer over top!
